Labour officials admit.....

.....they underestimated the power of UKIP which could well have cost them the general election.

Labour admits: We underestimated Nigel Farage's Ukip in the General Election | Politics | News | Daily Express

I wonder who is next for the Labour hot seat now both Millibands are out of it ?

I Don't think they'll let the Unions have final say this time

Apologies, obviously in the wrong section, so hopefully the mods will sort it

If you really want to be taken seriously NEVER quote the Express.
It was the SDP and the lost Liberal seats that cost labour the election UKIP had nothing to do with it.
How many labour marginals went Conservative because of UKIP votes ?
How many Scottish seats went SDP because of UKIP ?
They lost because they no longer appeal to those who elected Blair into power and these are certainly not anyone who would have voted UKIP.

Even had scotland returned 59/59 Labour MPs it wouldn't have been enough, labour would still have lost.

I think Labour focussed too much on scotland and failed to see the danger in England.

(It's SNP by the way, SDP was an 1980s phenomena)

Ooh, if the tories are found guilty of electoral fraud can we not declare the whole thing null and void and try again? (If only.....)

He cried wolf at the TV debate as well, saying the audience had been picked to give him a hard time

Voting for the Labour leadership has been changed from the last time, it's now one person one vote, unions do not have block votes to use as they did last time.

Yeah ;) The electors just have to LP members or affiliates and have 3 months to register or become affiliated. What do you think the Unions will be doing? - registering all their members as affiliates unless they specifically opt out - so by slight of hand (Milipedes favourite trick) back comes the Union block vote with a veneer of respectability . How many new LP members would be needed to balance that? How many would join the current LP failures?

It seems that UKIP is starting to rip itself apart now over Farage's on off resignation! Also there appears to be a split about the actual manner of campaign and and attitude of Farage and those that surround him.

Looks to me like UKIP is moving forward stronger than ever after comfortably weathering a storm in a tea cup blown up out of all proportion, most especially by the BBC.
The last week or so has clearly proved to me beyond any doubt that Farage is correct in saying that the BBC has a strong anti UKIP agenda.
They have repeatedly and continually blown up every minor triviality way up out of all proportion at the expense of many other major news items worldwide.

However far from succeeding it seems to have strengthened the resolve of both UKIP members and UKIP backers more than ever before.

Onwards and upwards.
Oh and I see the latest poll figures show a majority in favour of leaving the EU.

Looks like a one horse race with little prospect of a serious contest.

Labour leadership race: Leigh MP Andy Burnham has now been publicly backed by NINE Greater Manchester MPs - Manchester Evening News

Another Union man as well to boot.

More problems and embarrassment for the Labour Party, though no doubt the media will play it down as long as they can invent more negative stories about UKIP to fill their agenda.

I dont think we will see Labour in Government again for a long time, or at least until the next financial crisis when everyone will blame the Conservatives and desert ship.

Please give us examples of invented anti UKIP stories.
No doubt UKIP must have missed them as I cannot recall any succesfull libel or slander cases or complaints to the press council.

I am sure that UKIP would be delighted if you can provide evidence that they have missed.

Not sure that they will be complaining about the news reports in the Bristol Evening post regarding local senior UKiP official producer of porn films suspended because he filmed lewd acts in the centre of Bristol.
Bugger me you could not make it up if you tried.
