La Palma inquiry...
 

I'll be spending December through February on both Tenerife and Gran Canaria but will have friends from Canada wishing to be on La Palma for much of that period. They're older and not online so I've offered to help collect some information related to their preferences.

They'd like to find a peaceful, suburban or semi-rural area with pleasant walking or hiking and enough services (restaurants, a bar or two, a medical clinic just in case...) and within either an hour's walk or a short drive of a larger center...and with as much green space/vegetation as possible. Like me, they're used to rather lush landscapes and are hoping to find something that hints at that.

Also, the more sunshine the better!
