ITV Question

I bought my first Spanish registered car last August and the ITV test is due in October.
Is it possible to get the test done earlier than this, and lose a few months cover as with the MOT test in the UK?
The reason I ask is that I will be in Spain in June, and then can't be there again until November.
If I left it until November, would there be any problems getting it done then? Or would there be any penalties for turning up late?

Any advice appreciated thanks.

Re: ITV Question

Yes, you can have the test carried out early.

The ITV stations have no powers to fine you for an overdue test but you run the risk of being stopped by the guardia/police on your way to the testing station.

Having an appointment may help if you get stopped but I have never had to put it to the test.

Re: ITV Question

You should get a renewal letter and this may help if you did get stopped on the way to the test centre.
If you have the rest of the paperwork for the car etc, there should be no problem depending on what sort of day he`s had. ;-)
