After some 18 months deliberating, we are fast approaching the time we can finally take the plunge....
We are looking to relocate to a mobile home (we know its not everyone`s choice) and have now started to research in earnest. My biggest concern is the health care. I suffered a heart attack some 7 years ago. Fortunately, nothing since. I am 58, my DW is 56, so not eligible for state care. Is it still the case that we would need to provide health insurance for the first 12 months then we can join the Spanish state sytem.

Yes there is a "Convenio especial" which you may be elegible for and can start to pay into after one year's residence. About Euro 60,- a month .Before that you will need private insurance:
