Which internet dongle to use?
Can anyone recommend an internet dongle with a pay as you go price plan in Spain for occasional use, maybe something like 1 GB to be used in one month with no contract or monthly fees . So I can just top up when I visit Spain.

Re: Which internet dongle to use?
I think most of the phone companies now do Pay as you go..
Yoigo's is 3€ per day.. Carrefour (supermarket) do one, at 1€ a day, but im not sure if you have to go to the store to top it up.. |
Re: Which internet dongle to use?
Hi,
I have used vodafone for the past 2 years, but it was very expensive, and very awkward as you had to text them to convert any credit from voice to data, and your credit only lasted 90 days which wasn't always suitable. I have just bought a Más Movil dongle, it cost 70 euros, but it I am not frightened to use it as it is much cheaper per megabite (in fact I will save at least that much in the first year) any credit will last 6 months, and when your credit drops to below 10 euros, then 10 euros is direct debited from your spanish bank account. Much more user friendly. See masmovil.es Handy sue |

That implies that the 1 GB if not used expires after a month? Is that how your package works? |
Re: Which internet dongle to use?
Hi bluechip,
No, the main reason for my purchase of the mas movil dongle was the fact that it didn't expire after 3 months, let alone 1 month, but I don't think i went for the 1 gig option, as I am not a high user. I am in England at the mo, but will be in Spain from Monday onwards, and I will check my paperwork. The web site isn't that good, as all the agents are not all listed. Have a look round your local town and you will probably find an agent, I bought mine from Moraira, Northern Costa Blanca. |
Re: Which internet dongle to use?
For occansional use you might want to consider a UK Vodaphone dongle. We find reception is very good and there is no expiry on the credit balance.

Re: Which internet dongle to use?
HI,
I bought it from a computer shop on Avenida del Portet,34. The old road to El Portet, near to Ferrandos Estate Agents. A german guy who speaks perfect english, very, very helpful. I have looked for the paperwork to find out how much I am paying, but can't find it as yet, but I have used it for 3 weeks now and I am still using the first 10 euro top up. (it would have been 40 euros with vodafone) If i find the paperwork later in the week I will let you know, the beautifull sunshine here is keeping me outside - sorry handy sue |
