IMO it is now a more dangerous strategy. But each to their own...

From a personal point of view the advantages of remaining tax resident in the UK far out weigh becoming tax resident in Spain. I have the option of either but chose to remain a UK resident. I should mention that I don't spend longer than 183 days in Spain and no visit lasts longer than 89 days..... There are other countries that are also warmer than the UK
