Well to be honest, its an improvement for us. We are in Polop and have been stuck within our postcode for the last 2 weeks.
Im not complaining because, if its needed then so be it.
Although over half of the cases here were in the old folks home that family were allowed to visit during Christmas.

We've been stopped maybe 4 or so times either on the way out or coming back. There is no supermarket or petrol station in polop, so we have to go to La Nucia.
I went to the wife's fathers yesterday to see if he was Ok and to start digging over the patch where my veg is going to be and got stopped twice, as we live in a little village about 1.5 from Polop and her dad lives even further out.
But they stopped me to ask why I was leaving and then on the return the same officer asked where I was going.

This morning they were checking ITV stickers on the CV70 at La Nucia.

I still feel safer here than before we moved out last year.

Nothing yet, around here they have vaccinated all the old folks and staff in the homes (but not in Polop) as they had an outbreak.

My FIL is 81 and is in the middle of having his cataracts done (in the middle meaning one eye is done) and he has asked about the vaccine twice now and was told 'be patient, we will get round to you when we can, we have not had ours yet'

As yet we don't know anyone round here who has had the jab.
So Im assuming that until all the healthcare personnel have had both doses, they wont start on the general public.

We are private and have had no notification from the healthcare provider and Ive checked the website and my personal bit (although at 58 I expect my turn will come in around 2023)

But the UK is vaccinating with a 12-week gap between shots against manufacturer's guidelines and Israel has just said that a single shot is not as effective as they hoped. So no cause for concern there...

Seems to be different stories every day.

My sister was told 2nd jab would be 3 - 12 weeks.

Now people are jumping the UK queue. Another reason for a proper ID system?

Passing round a secret URL is just asking for trouble. Just uploading a scan or photo of an NHS staff badge and presenting it when you go for vaccination would have stopped that nonsense. And I didn't even get paid millions for that advice.

Nope. My dad has his appointment for the second jab next week. So 3 and bit weeks since his first one.

The nice nurse (his words) told him that the jab he had would give 85% protection and younger people with no medical history would probably just get the one. Old farts like my dad would need both.
The main issue however seems to be that, even after having one or both jabs, you can still catch the virus and pass it on, although the odds of passing it become vey slim.

I'm 58 and in good health, never had flu, get a cold once every 5 or 6 years and if they said because of this one jab would be enough. I would be happy to accept that.

My mum had her second jab three weeks after her first. She also said on the second jab it was more like a production line, in jab sit wait ten minuets, you ok yes up out home. My brother took mum. Home and back 30 minuets well done UK seems to me they are a world leader way to go. Lets hope Spain starts to get in gear soon!!!

Theres over 5 million been vaccinated in the UK as of yesterday ,I know a lot over 70 who have been vaccinated as well as many who work in the NHS and care homes , if you at risk (who isnt?) its best to avoid contact with anyone outside your house even if you are allowed out.
