Default Income Tax in Spain

Hi there,

Thinking of moving over for work so wondering about income tax in Spain.

Does anyone know the basic rate??

The company says they pay 2,800 before tax so just wondering what the damange will be!

Also, what happens with social security payments?

cheers!

It's unusual for a Spanish company to quote your salary "before tax", they usually give you the net figure.

Assuming you are not going to be employed as autonomo the company will pay the SS for you....I am guessing somewhere in the region of 250 euros/mes. Let's wait for someone to come along with the exact figure.

Income tax if I remember correctly is on a sliding scale according to how much you earn. Starting at 18% (?) up to about 43% (?).

I reckon your take-home pay will be somewhere in the region of 2200€/mes.
