Buying locally narrows the choice down, I have looked into buying online in spain, a lot of the sites seem to have poor customer ratings though. Redcoon has very good prices for some models, they seem almost too good to be true so probably are!
Do you have any recommendations or makes to avoid? We bought some Kef speakers last year and now need an amplifier with an active subwoofer output.

I have 7 kef eggs with Denon amp/cd. The KEF sub has ceased to work, and if you google KEF sub problems I'm betting you will come up with a lot. Apparantly if you leave it on standby all the time, although you think you are doing the right thing, it eventually messes up the circuit board. I asked KEF and they said I have to return it to them and they will replace the board at my cost. I haven't researched finding a KEF agent here yet, but I have read that once replaced the board has gone again.

I haven't got around to researching a replacement yet I'm afraid, be interested to see what you come up with as well.

I am starting to wish we had not seen the Kef eggs at such a good price! We have the 3005s with the HTB2 subwoofer.
After lots of /reviews forum reading we were looking at the Onkyo TX-SR876 but it much more expensive here than in the UK so are now looking at the Harmon Kardon 255 which has had mixed reviews (users seem to like it but UK reviewers not) but has all the necessary connectivity and is much liked in the UK and Denmark !! It is also available from MediaMarkt and from a local shop that also has an internet shop. http://www.pickupsound.es/
Will let you know what we end up and what we think.
