We have an apartment which we let out here in Lanzarote, but not getting much luck with AirBNB so thinking about using another website.
So I want to try a little market research if I may ?
Which website would you choose to book a holiday ?
Thanks in advance

Id use booking or late rooms. Normally you are covered by these if anything goes wrong.
Dont trust and would not use AirBNB as loads of them don't have licences and like eBay etc they are just a marketplace. For example if you are renting out a room etc in most countries there are minimum safety standards like smoke alarms. What are AirBNB doing, asking people to install one but not checking if they do. Same with CO2 detectors.
I also know a few people who have had bad experiences with stuff being damaged and not getting anywhere, although a friend of mine loves them (but he looks for the cheapest he can find and then still tries to get money off)
Just my 2c.

I always use hotels.com or booking.com but if I wanted a villa and flights I would book a package holiday for the protection, especially during these times. You could go with tuivillas.com

Slightly off topic but I am going to Edinburgh this weekend. I looked at Airbnb rooms and found that they were all around 80-100 pounds a night often having to share and in apartments miles from centre. Conversely, a city centre hotel with gym pool, restaurant and bar was only 60 pounds a night. So I have booked a hotel. Who wants to rent a room with a family for £80 ?

Lots of people prefer that rather than staying in an anonymous hotel, my husband always prefers to stay with a family when travelling on business. The pricing will be because of demand, most Air BnB hosts have smart pricing set, which means you put a minimum price you'd be prepared to accept, and then AirBnB set the price depending on demand. So if lots of people are looking for accommodation somewhere on specific dates, the price will go up.

Apart from that, the hotels offer employment to locals and I'd even be happy to pay a bit more if it provides jobs.

I agree and I must admit that I have never used Airbnb. We usually use Booking.com and only go for hotels, as an apartment wouldn't feel like a holiday and we have our own place in Spain anyway.

I´ve advertisements for this, but I've never used it: vrbo.com. I believe it stands for Vacation Rental By Owner, or something like that.
Good luck.

At the moment and until Brexit and Covid shakes out I would suspect that there will be few people booking holidays to Spain, or any other EU country, so suspect it is somewhat of a moot point for this year at least.
