Yes, they do seem to bit a bit of an Arfur Daley outfit. Certainly not one I'd trust with any of my financial or personal data. Though it's worth reminding people that all methods of watching TV outside of the contracted reception area are equally illegal, whether its CS, streaming, satellite dish or downloading.
Definitely one to avoid.

WRONG! Nothing illegal about it - just against T&C's.

However, I would recommend every one to stay away from Iberswitch.

Why? what has been your actual experience with them, or is it just bar room talk?

Just read the thread - plenty of first hand experience.

They are total scammers. Avoid like the plague.

I am the type of person that is always willing to give services a 2nd or 3rd chance but Iberswitch have no customer service to the point of being downright rude and incompetent, they have had their 3rd chance but won't get a 4th.

Just a few Tips from my experiences;

1. Energy is highly regulated in Spain and as a result there is precious little difference from one provider to another in terms of price and service. So, aside from the satisfaction to spite whichever company you hate today, there's not much practical reason to switch. And this is a great example of how such extreme regulation virtually destroys all resemblance of competition.

2. No matter what you switch, whether provider or potencia or anything else, despite being "gratuito", it will always cost something. Sometimes a LOT. One of my favourite lines is "free? That sounds expensive!". Welcome to Spain.

There is no charge to switch but as you say there is no point as the standard TUR tariff is government controlled.

I haven't switched providers, as it seems to be an exercise in futility anyway.

So, maybe no charge to switch providers per se, but when I switched to a lower tarif, (100% "gratuito" I was told) the charges for all the unnecessary documents, boletin, permisos, and all that rot came to almost €300.

My warning is only to point out that switching anything from what you already have carries risk without any reward. It should be something you really need to do, not just to spite Endesa or anyone else (unless of course you don't mind being woefully inconvenienced and just have lots of money to give away).

It would be interesting to see Iberswitch's response;it seems there is some material here that could be viewed as slanderous!

Libelous - possibly. Slanderous - no.

If your potencia is higher than 10.4 then you are in the deregulated market so there is some choice but not much.

There is plenty of choice.
