Default Iberdrola Elec Emergency Service

I have just noticed 'Electrical Emergency Service - 2,12€' on my latest Iberdrola bill for my new house.

Having never seen this before on any previous bills I have searched google and found Iberdrola's explanatory page -

'With the Electrical Emergencies service, you will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that you can get assistance to sort out an electrical problem in less than 3 hours.'

This seems a good deal - anyone got any experience actually using it?

Not sure if it was classified as an emergency but last year we got an electricity bill that said we hadn't used any electricity. When I checked the smart meter online, it had stopped recording any usage six weeks before.. I sent Iberdrola a message explaining this. A technician arrived the next morning at 08:00 and had a new meter installed by 08:15. I thought that was pretty impressive. The technician was also able to get the actual reading from the duff meter so we weren't overcharged.

I guess they would always come for a meter problem!

Is this charge included in your bill?

I think it is a new service which was included automatically on my new contract...

The charge has been on our bills as far back as 2014. Don't have any earlier to hand to check. Early bills had the charge as €1.99, it is currently €2.04.

No. Never had a problem apart from the smart meter conking out. We get the occasional village-wide power cut but have never bothered to phone up and report it. They never tend to last longer than half an hour at most.
