I was beaten senseless in Seville
I'm fed up of people talking about things they know nothing about. Random ramblings, yes but this is too far. I was beaten quite badly in November 2006. Some people on here have decided to suggest that it was a planned event. Let me tell you all now - IT WAS NOT. Sad tossers have thrown this rumour around for two years and it is now getting too much. Steve D, anything you want to add or should I wait for you to be a man

Fortaleza I don't post on this forum often, but what has brought this about? Why do you think people don't believe you? Perhaps I've missed something as I don't read all posts. I know of people who have been attacked in Seville so know that it is more the norm than the exception.
It must have been a terrible experience for you, but only you know how much, so don't take exception to what others have to say, they don't know the reality of such a thing.

It was personal and should not have been pursued here

Re: I was beaten senseless in Seville
What really annoys me about tossers like the guy on the other thread is that they know not of what they talk - he has simply latched on to a false rumour and has decided to spread it. He has taken an unfortunate incident and decided it fits in better with what he would like the events to have been. If, as he he suggests, it was something planned, why them did he wait until I was in Seville, something that was done on a whim, not planned or certainly not told to anyone, when there was opportunity on a daily basis nearer Ayamonte.
What this little guy does not know is that I know exactly who he is and if muck-raking is his game then I'm afraid, as he has more muck to rake than most, it is a game anyone can win. But it has little place on here

Hey Fortaleza, I missed all the trouble on "the other thread" last night, but just wanted to say I am really sorry to hear about what happened to you in Sevilla. Just ignore any idiots who come on here and try to cause trouble, they arent even worth replying to.
I hope you are ok now and there was no long term damage to you.
Take care of yourself xx

I got rolled in the alemeda but I put that down to my own stupidity wearing the wrong clothes, I would say im more street wise to that.
I can certainly say I have been to other parts of Spain where I have not felt as safe as I have at any time Sevilla

I have to agree, I felt Sevilla was one of the safest areas of Spain ive ever been, there has been some widely reported troubles with betis supporters recently but thats confined maninly to the area of Manuel Ruiz de Lopera Stadium.

It seems alright at the moment but according to the police and some journalist friends I know in Seville, there was a period when a gang of youths were specifcally targeting two sets of people: a) Pijos - Spanish yuppy or posh types and b) anyone foreign (in some cases foreign even included 'anyone not from Seville')
They gained a bit of noteriety, and other gangs started copying them. At its worst point, it wasn't just gangs - it was a 'legitimate' Saturday night activity for young people similarly on nights out. The police were struggling to get a hold on it but I'm told since the press got involved saying that it was bad for the city's image etc... it died down. I've been going to Seville for eight years but this was the only time I got 'done'. Seen other things though but that was usually Spanish against Spanish - probably over football or women!!!!!
