HP Laptop

My son has found a laptop on amazon.es - a HP 255G3 - that he wants to buy. Is it easy to change the "operating" language from Spanish to English. Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming it is running Windows 8, there is no problem.

Language packs are available for Windows 8 and for Windows RT

Note that it will probably also have a Spanish keyboard. It's similar to the English keyboard, so you may just get used to it.

You can also change the keyboard layout in Windows, if you want. Which may be more or less confusing for you. The symbols on the keys won't change, but when you type a key, it will generate the character that would be there on the English keyboard. Example: pressing the "Ñ" key will generate the ";" character.

Thanks for your help. The laptop is for my youngest son and despite us living here for 8 years (he is almost fluent in Spanish) he is adamant that he wants the language in English. He reads lots of books and never worries about the language the book is written - Spanish, English or Galego - but he did not want a Spanish language "operating" system.

Hola

Sensible lad - I have a Spanish keyboard but map it to English when I want a £ sign and then map it back so I have the "Ñ" key in use.
