There's another link about this, I think nearly half a million foreigners left Spain last year. Plus many thousands of Spanish, last one out, turn off the lights! Oh, they are already out, another apagón! I heard the King tried to get out, but his aircraft was unserviceable again.

Just as an anecdote as to why it's difficult to believe any stats - it's getting hard to walk in several barrios in Madrid without hearing American or British accents. This is because thousands have been employed on a auxiliar scheme (to add to the English teacher population already working here), yet many of them will not be counted as permanent residents (they leave in June/July and have to re-apply if working the following year).

well probably there is an element of truth, but............
they don't tell you how many left the UK for Spain, so it is a typical Knock Spain report we have come to expect.

I for one was never asked where I was going nor for how long.

but also just remember that the UK has no idea how many people it has entering the country despite a £500million computer system
