Hola all,
My mate has asked for help with selling their car and that is one of the things that I haven't a clue about!
The car is fully legal with no debts attached to it...
What is the procedure?
Thanks

Use this:

Hihi...
These are good sites for selling cars: www.autoscout24.es and autocasion. com or .es
Your friend also could take it to a local garage and let them take care of the sale.

Sorry my fault should've been more precise...
She needs help with the legalities of it.... you hear these stories about people buying a car then not transferring the name like they should, so the previous owner gets billed for their debts or fines etc.
Her Spanish is pretty good, so she normally doesn't need a gestor for things....
I've never sold a car in Spain before so don't know what to advise....... what is the procedure?
Do you hand over all your old receipts for ITV and tax?
How do you change ownership?
Thanks all

I would go to a gestor with the purchaser and let them sort it, you have a little comeback (or free help) if there should be any problems later on.

I agree, use a gestor, safest thing to do, you read so many horror stories. also you will still be liable for this years road tax even if you sell before the tax is due.
