In the Netherlands you dont need any deposit, in the UK it seems like you need all your worldly income plus the blood of an innocent! What is the situation in Spain is it 10% 5 % any chance of 100% mortgages?

It varies from region to region, and the amount the bank is willing to lend on a property (and there are lots of variables in that, such as the documented legality of structures, and the banks' own assessment of its value) but on a "clean" property, fully and legally documented, and priced matching what the bank considers "fair market value", around here you can expect 20%-30%.

Loafing Along

Things in Spain are looking up and money is cheap so mortgages are available. You will need a track record with your bank and really need to have savings with them but if you manage that things are not so bad, you can certainly get 60% - 70% and even 80% but also age comes into it and there is a cut-off at 75 years for most banks. Definitely worth shopping around and getting to know the rates as they differ quite a lot.
One way to get a good mortgage is buy one of the properties the bank has on its books, they all have a glut of properties left over from the "Boom - Bust " era
