Well at least part of the formula used to be regarded as "catering for the masses"

Passed one in Dorset a few times on holiday and it was full every time. Looked into one near us a while back, not a seat to be had, absolutely heaving. We often read about pubs closing at an alarming rate, he has over 700 and more opening every week, he's certainly doing something right. Cordon bleu it aint, but I get the impression that's not what the majority want, or more importantly, can't afford. I think part of his success is there are no bloody noisy machines nor thumping music.

Yeah, could be. Pile it high and sell it cheap has always seemed to be a winning formula.

As what'sisname said, no-one ever went broke underestimating the taste or intelligence of the public.

Could be, but with WS's, if it says ham, double egg and chips, drink, £3, that's what you pay! You don't have to factor in the price of HP sauce, condiments, or whatever else you might add, plus you don't have to preload a card with cash to avoid obscene charges. (cue O'Leary lovers!) It's all transparent. But whatever the differences, they both have a very successful business models.

My local Co-op is charging £4.50 for their FEB. They have their customers who will make a morning or day out for it, and would never think of having alcohol.
oh the joys of getting old

Funnily enough my Daughter doesn't like egg white so it worked well when she was at home. Strange how we get these food aversions. I cannot look at an egg with a runny yolk, have to avert my eyes. Only hard boiled eggs for me
