house insurance
can anyone confirm this
my household insurance was renewed some moths ago but I have not received a new policy - I have asked the agents I bought the policy from and they said that as long as I have the payment receipt from the bank (which I have) I am covered and the policy is valid even though the date on it is 2005
is this the same with all companies ? or is something fishy going on ?

I do know that Mapfre told me to carry a copy of the bank deduction receipt with my car papers as apparantly its a police requirement.

Re: house insurance
yes I have been told that about car insurance - for which you get a new policy each year, so why is it different for house insurance
Ive just looked on the payment slip and the payment was made to Catalana Occidente not the broker

Re: house insurance
Your receipt for payment is the only proof that you have a valid policy, and MUST be kept in your car with your car insurance document at all times, it is similar with house insurance, it doesn't really matter what the policy date is, but you MUST have that receipt as validation, and have it with you if you have any claim or query. Many companies will send out insurance policies, but they aren't valid without proof of paying, that is why, if you pay by DD from a bank, the bank will send you a specificrecipt for that money showing policy number, receipt number amount etc. same applies to SUMA and other such payments.
