Not necessarily!.....Strictly speaking, if you travel out of Spain to another country such as Gibraltar, France, UK.. etc) then the 90 day countdown restarts after 24 hours. Nobody ever checks this so it's a waste of time, unless you have proof of your visit, such as receipts , parking tickets... etc. We know of some people who even get visiting guests to bring over receipts from the UK!!! At this point I must point out that I don't condone this behaviour.

We tend to avoid Spain in July & August (too hot) and January & February (too cold).

Yes good point re 90 days. My plans too are to be in the uk for those months. Thanks for your responses on this...!

This residency and coming and going thing is quite trivial and of little or no interest to the authorities. It’s the big fish the authorities are interested in, someone who is worth their while.
