It would be ironic if we reformed the EU through Brexit that we would want to join up later!!!

The answer is in the article. Because they are an international trade organisation and need to have satellite offices in other countries - especially in Brussels when Britain is part of the EU, where inter-EU deals are made...

I still think there needs to be a European presence, but I am sure Diageo knows that best and will take appropriate action.

I'm sure this is meant to be ironic but somehow doesn't quite get there. Currently there are a number of countries in the UK negotiating trade agreements ( including some from the EU but don't tell Juncker!) - it appears there is no need to go anywhere, they are coming to us.

I dont think it is anything to celebrate that Diageo want to trade from UK, the reason is clear, Less than 10% of Diageo’s revenues come from the UK market, so a weaker pound benefits its top line profits. The lower value of sterling means that Diageo’s debt will be comparatively cheaper to service as most of it is denominated in sterling.
This devaluation effect will also benefit other scotch producers such as Wm Grant, which also exports the lion’s share of its production.

That's great, and will help (if anything actually happens which tangibly benefits the UK). It will be up to a decade before anyone will really know.

But Britain alone is a significantly smaller and less interesting market than it would otherwise be as the gateway to the world's largest economy. AND it's highly dependent on imports, and has comparatively few exports, so the other party is in the best negotiating position.

Britain's future as an island nation is clear. Smaller economy, smaller global footprint. As even the new government has eluded to, there's simply a new economic reality. There will be adjustments.

More and more companies are expressing their allegiance to the UK almost every day, in total contrast to what was predicted before the referendum.
Should the sad strife torn situation continue in France, Belgium and Germany as well it might, I would expect an even greater trend towards the UK.
