Default High winds in Oliva - 2 disasters so far

Went out this morning to the market ...... when we returned a cabinet full of glasses and china on our balcony had been blown over ..... contents mostly smashed.

Turned the TV on for solice .......... No signal .... went out side and 1.8 sat dish is rolling about on the roof as two of the three seating bolts have come away, sat man can't get here till tomorrow.

So just had to tie it down as best I can and hope the wind drops as its a 40 ft drop off our roof to the ground

What a day so far!!!!

Sorry to hear that Mitzyboy, hope you have managed to salvage some of your glasses and china, don't want to rub salt in to the wound but a lovely day here in Chiclana; sun shinning, blue sky makes up for the flooded kitchen
we woke up to yesterday, such strong winds during the night it blew the rain under the kitchen door can imagine my surprise when I got up to feed the cat, i was walking on water.....

Our terrace is often windy as we get the mountain breeze and most afternoons the wind gets up at 3pm. We could never leave anything other than heavy garden furniture out. Often it's too windy to eat out there, unless you enjoy watching salad fly ..

Not so funny if you've covered it in sauce first and then it lands on you.

I'm in Marbella, in the mountains and it was pretty windy about 3.30 am. I thought I may be staring in the next wizard of Oz with my house blowing away. I had a new window fitted a couple of months ago and it only had about 12 inch crack in it, last night it covered the whole window and wasn't sure if both windows were going to smash as they didn't half rattle. Anyway hopefully the window man is going to fit in a new one soon, I'm not sure that I want an open terrace at the moment again.

M, you could always try kite surfing

Up here in GALICIA it's very windy at the moment and has been for the last 3 days.
With extremely heavy rain & hail storms at night and winds gusting 150kmh at the point on our harbour entrance

And just checking the forecast for the next week we have it for the next week

Last year the whole month of Feb it was quiet and 25c all through, strange weather changes we are experiencing at the moment all over
