Help with Hotmail

I had what I thought was the latest version where it automatically checked for new mail on the bottom right hand corner and also you could see mail as you clicked on a message. This seems now to have reverted tpo an old version. Is there a new download I need? I have tried clicking on options and switching to the classic version and back again but it is not really working.

Yes, but, it has changed since I signed myself out and my daughter in. When I then signed her out and me in it had all changed and now I can´t seem to get back the online checking without needing to refresh and the other options of reading a message without having to open it.

Ditch hotmail. It is a disgrace. Take up Gmail. I think it is passed the "experimental" stage now and open to anyone but if not, PM me and I'll send you an invite. By far the best open, free email out there IMHO

I´ve to a Gmail account but prefer hotmail. I have had my address for countless years so if an old buddy tried to get in touch they would find me. I just cannot get back to the automatic updating online.

That is strange ?
It says " Due to a request from Microsoft, this download has been removed temporarily. However, Windows Live Messenger 9 will be available for download here as soon as it is oficially published. Check back often to ensure you don't miss it!"

If you go into control panel, add and remove programs and remove windows live messenger.
Then put Hotmail.com into your browser it will open the page and give you the option to download the latest version, it will probably be 8.5.

Re: Help with Hotmail

have you tried putting the hotmail settings into Windows Mail or Outlook ? This would also mean that you would never have to access the hotmail pages just to check for new messages and you wouldn't have to change email address either.

I know that this works with gmail as i have just done it for my dad who was sick of having to access internet sites and put in his username and password each time - I believe it works with hotmail as well but it WON'T with Yahoo.

Re: Help with Hotmail

I have solved the problem. I had a trojan who implanted a false hotmail site on my computer which told me that I was signed in on another computer and invited me to sign it again on this site. What I didn´t know was that when I signed in it stole all my address book and sent mail to my friends. I am hoping I have solved it now and I am back to my "proper hotmail" with all its features. Thanks for everybodys´suggestions.

Glad you sorted it, be careful where you go and what you click on, don`t open anything you are not expecting.

It was a link from someone on my address book. I don´t even suppose they knew it had been sent.:curse:
