Help. Crisis re school entry

Just chased up our application for E106 for temporary health care and was told they havent even recieved it.

Will be doing another and faxing it them but not sure if it will be here in time.

My issue is that we were going to use this as our daughters health care cover when appying for a school.

Does anyone know if they always want to see this or is it only sometimes.

And what if we have only our E111s.

Will probably end up paying spanish contribution eventually and will also get the E106 but we cant wait that long.

My concern is the school entry issue.

Please help. It will be a spanish primary school.

it wasnt asked for when we signed our son up to the school, but things do change and vary from area to area. All they asked for was the red book and empardrimiento, also took his NIE

If they do ask for it maybe just say its being sent over from England to bid yourself some time

probably could get away with that - we did 5 years ago & were never again asked for it til dd1 went up to the Instituto!

the daughter will almost certainly have to have medical in any case - a private medical will be ok if they can't get into 'the system' straight away - just need to take the red book along

Thankyou for that.

Ive already packed the red book which wasnt complete anyway.

Ive got a doctors printout of all her vaccs which include mmr.

Surely this is ok.

she'll still almost certainly need a medical - though it does vary area to area

My children's school didn't ask for medical note either - they just wanted details of the vaccines.

I had a copy of the print out of the vaccines from the doctor.

Then when we got our Spanish healthcare sorted I took my baby to get her MMR jab and the doctor checked throughly what she and my other children needed by comparing the red book and the printout.

different area - and times change!

when my kids originally started they didn't have to have the medical - well they were supposed to but were allowed to start & get it done later

a couple of years later I was doing translations at the school & they were much stricter - no medical no school!

Actually I tried the nearest school and the secretary WAS a jobsworth. They were "full". The school I had to take, the secretary is absolute fantastic.

I think it all depends on the school and their rules - best of luck on this!

We did everything wrong when we moved to Galicia but we were very lucky. We took the kids to the local school to find out how we could get them enrolled without being there before, and the school's response was that they would sort out the paperwork later and we were to leave the kids there now! All they needed was their nie numbers, passports, two photos, green health book and address of their last school in the UK so they could write to them and get their final reports.

The policy of the province is the child can't get in without being in the Padron, without vaccine certification or without documentation of the medical carried out by the doctor. It is the job of the headteacher to assess these documents so they may be "temporarily" overlooked if the school is running an expansionist policy (to gain more subsidies).

By the way, someone above said the children needed a NIE. That's not so. Or maybe they mean the parent or guardian needs a NIE. Not sure about that but I didn't have one when my kids started.
