Help complicated Bank declaration of tax residence for NIF purposes.......
 

Hi All

Had this to fill from our lovely Spanish bank attachedAttachment 127105.
anyone know which boxes we should tick under the Exceptional circumstances:............. (3 boxes) and the last box Additional provision one of the Order EHA/3202/2008 of 31st October).......

Any help greatly appreciated.

This is a fairly standard bank form to re-verify your identity and tax status periodically (should be around every 3 years but a lot of people have never had one)
Are you a tax resident or a snow-bird?


If you are tax resident in the UK (ie less than 183 days in Spain) then apart from the obvious details, you can skip most of the rest. In fact we took our completed forms (in English and Spanish) into our bank and they didn't seem particularly interested.

Thanks we thought as much, just filed under c***p l expect.

Strictly UK tax resident.
Because we haven't completed one we had our bank account blocked with no warning so beware. Now trying to sort out the mess with rejected direct debits and bills including Ayamonte City Hall so some justice, at least temporarily.

Probably best NOT to file this sort of document under c**p then I suspect. :p

just to clarify we dutifully filled in the paperwork and returned and probably filed under c**p at the bank.
