Correct but will have to pay a little towards prescriptions.

Generally 40%, higher if you are highly paid, with a cap in each category.

True you do pay but it is very small if you are on a regular wage. Funny how people seem to mock Scottish independence and SNP because when I lived in Scotland prescriptions were free and it was a great thing.

Great for you but unaffordable, that and other 'free' services such as university tuition fees, are why the country has a deficit if upwards or anything from 7% to 10% depending on the political bias of the body reporting it.

While that alone would not be sufficient to bar an independent Scotland from rejoining the EU there would however be a need for a commitment and a plan to reduce the deficit to 3% and in reality there are only two ways to achieve that, austerity or higher taxes.

Yeah I forgot the free university intuition. That's good too. Allows less fortunate to have a chance.

Study in Europe for free (or low tuition fees)

11 EU countries offer free university tuition to their own citizens and other EU/EEA citizens.

I guess they see it as an investment in the future.

It is all about choices. Support those less fortunate and invest in the younger generation or sqeeze the poor to cut taxes and give obscene bonuses for the bankers.
