Sam,
Those piccies are great, especially the ones of you...what a lovely area, so your life is on the move again, new job, 6am start..bad planning, sounds like the night shift, tell all won't you..

Yes just got back from Spain, house finished apart from some snagging, actually staying in it now, am well pleased with the finished job.
Been behaving myself and meds are stable which is where I would like to lock nursey......

Hope your first day went well, you must be cream crackered..you look after yourself.

BB.

Hi BB,

I'm soooooooooo pleased for you that your house is pretty much finished
CONGRATULATIONS!!

It must have been so exciting to stay in it for the first time.
Have you got any more photos to show us?? Please!

Were you there for a while this time?
I haven't been on here very much at all this year, but you don't seem to have been either :(

Were you able to get out and about exploring the area, or is it still very much a case of sorting out all the things in the house?
You were very brave to go through the whole building process AND not actually be in the country to do so
Good for you!

I hope your house will bring you many years of peace and happiness

As to the new job...............well!
Let's just say it was an experience yesterday
I will write a thread about it, because I get the feeling that either I won't stick it for very long - or it will be quite therapeutic for me to come home and write about the day's experiences as it happens!!

Tomorrow I start a week of late shifts. Monday to Saturday, 4pm until midnight...........or "whenever you finish!"
Apparently it could be as late as 2 am

Tonight we're going to the bar to watch the football, and I also really need to catch up on some e-mails; but once I've got a spare half an hour I'll start the thread.
Watch this space ;)

Take very good care BB.

Love and hugs,
Sam xx

Un beso

Hi Marisol,

How lovely of you to send me birthday greetings, with all that's been going on with poor Roco.
Thank you :)

What's been wrong with the poor boy?
I'm really glad to hear that he's OK again now, but I know how horrible it is to have a poorly dog - you feel so helpless while they are laying there looking really sorry for themselves, don't you? :(

Shiloh says to give him a big "get well" lick from her

I do hope he's not going to have any continuing problems??

Lovely to hear from you marisol, and thanks again for your kind wishes.

Love Sam.

Hello anabella

Thank you for your lovely message!

Are you well?
I expect you're getting all geared up for the big match eh? Only an hour to go!!

We're going to the village bar, and are hoping that in a few hours everyone will be celebrating by tearing round in every conceivable mode of transport, brandishing Spanish flags and hooting their car horns for hours on end!! ;)

What time is it with you?
Will you be able to see the match?

Love and hugs,
Sam xx

Hi Brisca and thanks, please give to Shiloh a big hug from Roco.
It was exactly during your birthday when he had a stomach twisting (i dont know if this is the word in English), so he had got to have an operation. We had to cross all Madrid, from our house to the clinic, as the symptoms worsen very fast i was afraid we were not going to be on time.
The streets and the road were full of cars celebrating the victory against the russians and we were driving as fast as we could with the emergency lights and moving a white paper handkerchief, the only one i had. We had to jump the lights, it was like a nightmare, there we were, with Roco dying while the other people were going mad, waving the spanish flags and interrupting traffic. The surgeon was waiting for us so he acted very quickly and finally everything was ok. He is with us now and he is happy again, that is the most important.
Love,
marisol

Oh marisol!

I'm so sorry to hear about Roco's illness :(
Yes, I know exactly what you mean; I think they call it a stomach torsion in English - I understand that it's very serious and life threatening, and needs really prompt treatment.

You must have been beside yourselves with worry :(
Of course to have it coinciding with all those happy people celebrating, and tons of traffic must have all added to your dreadful state of mind.

I believe that German Shepherds and other large breeds are most prone to a stomach torsion; it's one of the things that I've always been worried about with Shiloh.

I'm so happy that Roco got such wonderfully prompt treatment, and that all is well with him now.
You must be so relieved to have him home, and I bet he's getting spoilt rotten ;)
It's such a feeling of helplessness when your pet is so ill.
Thank goodness you were able to find him such a good surgeon.

Shiloh says that if she lived a bit closer, she'd give Roco one of her bones :D

So glad to hear that he's on the mend now, and hopefully he'll continue to go from strength to strength.
I'm sure you never want to go through that again

Take very good care, and give Roco a big hug from me (a gentle one, of course!)

Love Sam xx

PS I bet the atmosphere is amazing in Madrid tonight!!?

Enhorabuena a España!!

We really enjoyed the game, and I'm sure you are ecstatic :D

Spain were definitely the best team of the tournament, and thoroughly deserved to win.
They were the most consistent, and have a great team spirit.
Brilliant stuff

All the kids in our village were parading round wearing Spanish flags draped down their backs.
We took our flag to the bar, and one of the girls has disappeared off wearing it bless her.

A really great night for Spain

Re: Happy Birthday brisca

Many thanks to

Chris, Carol and John and Lionda for all your lovely wishes

Sorry this is only a real quickie!
I started work last Saturday in a fruit factory  and although I had Sunday off (to do all my household chores) the hours mean that I literally haven't had a spare minute to speak to, e-mail, phone or chat to anyone since then!!

This week I'm working "lates", which means from 4pm until "whenever!"
On Monday we finished at 3 am (I kid you not) and last night we were "early" finishing at 2.15 am.

It's a 40 minute drive each way, and by the time I've worked, travelled, eaten and slept - it's time to start all over again.
Not sure how long I'll stick it for??

Anyway, will catch up properly with everyone, as soon as I possibly can.

Hope everyone is OK.
Lionda, did I read you were in the middle of a move again??
Hope that went well for you, and that you are happier in your new place. Are you a bit less out in the sticks?
When will you be heading back to the UK, do you know?

Chris, I'm really sorry I haven't replied to you e-mail yet..............but I promise I will as soon as I can.
Hope you and Bob are OK, and are bearing up as far as the house front goes?
What on earth can you possibly have left to decorate, woman!!!?? :D

Sorry folks, got to go.
Take care all,
love Sam xx

PS Mich You take really good care, and keep that chin up
Make the most of these next 4 weeks, and take lots of photos of your friends and favourite places.
It'll be great for when you're in damp old Brizzle and missing people ;)
Also, it will be a lovely reminder for the kiddies when they're older.

Remember though; it's not adios - it's just hasta luego ;) xx
