Haggis

A long shot but does anyone know where I could get a haggis in Jerez or shippable distance?

Worth giving Iceland (Overseas) a call if there is one near you.

Guess the nearest one to you ( and us) is at Fuengirola. They usually have them around " Burns Night " time

Hola
Actually the nearest Overseas Store to Jerez is in Sotogrande and they normally have haggis all year round - but worth phoning in these times as delivery is not what the stores really need

Its not that difficult to make a haggis from the ingredients if you live in the country. We went to a local sheep farmer and they gave us the meat. The only difficult thing was getting the allspice.

What about Morrisons in Gibralter

If sausages are on the list of foodstuffs that cannot be brought across the border into Spain from Gibraltar, wouldn't haggis be the same? It would be a long trip to make only to have the haggis confiscated by a Customs officer.

Re: Haggis

Apparently tinned Haggis is pretty good, Grants especially.

Amazon Spain have it.

I would suggest that if you make it yourself, Allspice is not an essential or authentic ingredient although a very suitable one. Nutmeg, mace, cloves, coriander and loads of black pepper should suffice. Even Chinese 5 spice powder would work.

Just enjoyed a game haggis, online, from Lancashire Smokehouse (delivered to UK address). With Talisker Skye. Listening to a Janet Russell CD.
Bliss.

Sounds pretty good!

I love a good haggis followed by a Venison Steak.

I got one from Gibraltar. A friend who works there nipped in and bought one from Morrisons.

You can't beat a venison steak. Only for special occasions though, it's dead dear.
