Guide dog sponser
 

For many years I have sponsered a guide dog in UK.I could do this same thing in Spain I know but I always "gift"my donation to a young relative(who all happen to be in UK)so that hopefully ,by following the progress & visiting events,he or she will appreciate how lucky we are not to suffer such a disability as blindness & see the wonderful work that goes into the training.Each time the training ends,to continue to sponser,you have to start again giving your payment details.Previously this worked without a hitch but recently,having gone through all the details & at the end putting in the card number,it came back as"an error".Being assured that my card was OK,I tried again.Same thing,so e-mailed the organisation.Briefly this is what was stated- "We cannot accept overseas bank account payments.However we can take a BAC'S payment via your bank".So off I went & showed the bank man the whole e-mail & asked if I was able to make a payment from my account.He seemed unsurprised & twiddled away & I received a paper stating it had been sent.I was asked by the Guide dog Assoc.to inform them when & if I had been able to continue by the way suggested,which I did yesterday.I now have to wait to see if this worked out before I can get my sponsership started.However I wonder if anyone else has had a card issued by a Spanish Bank rejected by any other English organisation.:confused:
