As far as I know there is no vaccine for the alleged swine flue yet, so I imagine it is the usual yearly flue vaccine for pensioners.

In this area the annual flu vaccinations have started this week.

It's the normal seasonal flu vaccine - "Gripe Estacional".

The swine flu version will arrive later and is referred to as "Gripe A".

The people who will get it will not be the same as the people who get the normal flu vaccine. The priority will be young people and pensioners will probably only get it if they have specific medical conditions such as coronary problems etc.

my 13 year old has just recovered from flu

we don't know which type - we were advised to just give paracetamol to keep the temp under control & if that didn't work contact the medical centre (again)

she had a few days of pretty high temp - which we did manage to control - severe aches all over her body, cough, sore throat etc

the worst only lasted a few days - now she's just a bit 'under the weather'
