I agree. He comes over as very intelligent, knowledgeable and a good communicator. There are many I would not like to share the journey with but he I could put up with.

Agreed, cannot think of a better person for the job. I am looking forward to the programme. He has done a lot of Uk and Continental railway journey programmes. All eminently watchable.

Looks that way, I find him watchable as well!
He did a good series, Digging up the Dead.

It was an excellent programme, well researched and very nicely presented.
I'd sooner have his company than many people I can think of.

That's a shame. When did you meet him?
I've only seen his TV programmes and he seems quite affable, camera-friendly and enthusiastic about his subject. He also presents well (leaving his garish jackets aside ) and doesn't turn his documentaries into dramas.
Will watch more.

Very interesting programme.
I would only take issue with one bit; they said that 'our' line (the bit from Ronda to Algeciras) is being reviewed for possible closure. I don't think it is - I think it is the local train service (that he was riding) that is under review - not the line itself which also carries express trains and much heavy freight.
