Good News for Ayamonte/CE

Hola Friends,

The good news is the weather has changed 2 days of sunshine temps in the upper teens at mid day but clear skys mean cold nights 6-7 *. The whole of CE seems to be a lot busier this year at this time than last year and can only get better for Easter. Some people who rent have full bookings lists.

Do any of you remember a post saying the East course may be closed due to lack of business? Well (and we are in a position to observe) its very busy every day and the West course too seems to be busier than ever with coaches or mini buses every day. the re-financing of Amerych is so good that they are now a very sound company and the courses look set for a very bright future.

There are several new villa builds on the go on both courses and those who know tell me that at the right price plots, town houses and apartments are selling. Sea and Sun is finished and we hear that completions on pre-sold units are going ahead.

On the whole the picture looks a lot brighter this side of winter than the other.

So come on down and have a good Easter at our favorite town in Spain and with a little luck the weather will be in the low 20*, Jags will be open and it will be light until after 9 o'clock.

You can't beat it after the awful winter in UK and the wet one here, see you around soon.

Aaah it was John in loincloth, throwing old bones on his terrace and howling by moonlight to do a sun-dance get us some 'guaranteed' sun :) Thanks John... but ...errr... you can put that loincloth away now, please! :)

As that old song says 'Its getting better all the time'

All the best to you both - thanks for the great update

Jon

Hi All,

Another fine bright day and the temp is creeping up and the humidity is dropping. Good news for those worried by mold.

Another piece of good news is that the girls at the Golf Club have organised a FADO night for Sunday the 21st of March at 20.00 hrs. We have not done Fado yet so we are going along to hear it for the first time. They are also doing a Portuguese menu alongside the standard club menu so it should be a good "do" all round.

Hi all,
An update on the winter now that spring has arrived. 19*balmy and sunny all day until 19.45
On the first of October the Navy goes sober (woolly pully) On the first of May the Navy goes gay (shirt sleeve order) so that’s when I reset the zero on my weather station (outside sensor on a north facing well ventilated shaded wall). So the readings from 1st October 2009 to date are: -
Max Temp Min Temp Humidity at Max
Inside 38* 8* 87%
Outside 29* 2.6* 88%
It has been the wettest winter for 30 -70 years depending on who is telling the tale (water reserves have gone from -20% to more than 100% they have opened dams to control water levels). How ever all that water has left both courses looking superb and they have both played right through the monsoon. So things are getting better by the day.
