I had hoped that by the end of June we would have news about the Golf curse and club... (pun intended ) - we all live in hope that confidential discussions are taking place.

Re: EUC
More than a rumour actually, loads of conversation. Some upsetting info cropped out. In addition to their 60K€ admin fees, the current Admin received 20K€ to help them with the rent!!! and another 6K€ for the software.....
Should be sealed bids tender but again how can we control this process?

any source for that rumour? I am not aware that the contract has ever been tendered before. It was just awarded to a firm of solicitors in town and they gave oodles of cash to confiserve to buy equipment to carry out the works. Who owns that equipment I wonder and will it transfer with any new contract that may be awarded?
Is it going to be a proper sealed bids tender with qualified "Administrators" or just awarded to a friend of a friend?

Is there any update on what the plans for the golf club are? Have the members received any communication that gives a hint of future plans?

Re: Golf Club
I know that it is a matter of waiting and see what the outcome is, but does anyone know if we have contact with whoever is making these decisions. I would have thought as the outcome of the golf course reopening or not as it may be, would be of interest to all on Costa Esuri.
We all paid the prices we paid to be close to 2 golf courses and all the other facilities Fadesa promised. We already have one course that has gone, the last thing we need is the second one to be closed and turn into a field, which unfortunately is what happened to the other course.
I believe there was a club Captain and we also have a Costa Esuri Residents President, so I was wondering if they are in the picture of when there is likely to be any news on the future of the course or have contact details of who we could get some updates from.

There has been a lot of talks and meetings taking place.
The golf members formed a working group to look at the possibility of taking over the running of the golf course. Fadesa said that they would let the members take over the running rent free. A group of Spanish people involved at Esuri had a meeting with Fadesa in Madrid with the idea of forming a company to run the course.
The bottom line on both approaches is that there have been enormous debts accrued on the course and any company taking over the running will have to take on these debts.
The Town Hall do not want the course closed and approaches are being made to them to see what if any assistance can be obtained from them.
With regard to updates I am absolutely confident that any definitive news will appear on the Ayamonte thread as soon as it is known

Have you been having lessons in speed typing, was just about to make a similarly worded post when yours appeared. Nothing else to add as QW has covered everything

Thanks, that is just what I wanted. Glad to hear there is at least talking taking place. Fingers crossed, as it would be such a shame if it went the same way as the other course.

Hi, I don't know how many of you have received an e-mail recently from CERA entitled 'Use of the Golf Course' but for those of you who haven't here is a quick summary. Although the West Course is closed it is still having basic maintenance and watering in order to prevent it from becoming completely lost. It would therefore be in every ones interest if people could refrain from walking their dogs on there and also allowing their children to play football on the greens. Regards Bryony
