Fuengirola has a Pumping station and a big pipe on the promenade, obviously tourist attractions, and the smell is said to induce hunger in the landbound tourists hence the large café next to it. A saying such as "A nice Brown egg when the muck spreading starts" come to mind.

Yesterday afternoon / evening there was a six Km queue of cars trying to enter Gibraltar which also caused problems for the traffic in La Linea as reported by a Spanish newspaper.
El regreso a Gibraltar provoca una cola de seis kilómetros en...
Bank holidays have historically been a time for Gibraltar residents to take a break from the Rock.Even in the closed frontier days there were many small boats travelling up the coast.
However I have noticed these last few days an almost continuous queue to enter Gibraltar from early morning to late afternoon and this cannot be just Gibraltar residents returning, at least not early in the day. Also the number of cross frontier workers would be at a minimum
Normally when Gibraltar holidays away there are lots of empty parking spaces on the Rock, this has not been the case this weekend.
Therefore I am at a loss to explain the recent queues.

Fabian Picardo said: “It should not, however, be a surprise to us that obtuse politicians such as the Leader of the PP in Brussels and Mariano Rajoy's own brother-in-law might be continuing to hit their heads against brick walls in order to try that the corruption with which their party is riven might be moved from the daily headlines

Since the Maastricht treaty every citizen of every member state holds EU citizenship. In the UK very few people are even aware of this and those that are will regard it as worthless
