Getting to Valencia from Denia
 

Hi,

Could anyone advise on how to get to Valencia from Denia. Would like to get there by train but have been told it isn't possible?

Bus all the way or bus to Gandia,then train.Long long ago there was a plan to link Gandia to ............

probably why they are concentrating on the line from Gandia to the new hospital first!

Shame they didn't get that nice little Denia Benidorm line back in action.

Anyone know if the upgraded Benidorm to Alicante line is still operating ?

The Tramalicante website appears to show that all is in operation.

That's interesting.

Last I heard the Benidorm Denia stretch had been delayed indefinitely due to lack of funding.

There is definitely a tram service between Benidorm and Denia, I saw it in operation in December but did not use it.

Shame, I was down there in December and didn't know it was open again.

I know the line from many years ago before they started upgrading it and it was really good with stops at quite a few interesting places, as well as being very scenic with nice views.

I always used the normal service which was very popular with the local people in that area, but also at that time there was a vintage tourist train called the Limon Express using the same route which was also popular.

Looking at the timetable, I wonder how different it is now, if at all ?
It appears to follow exactly the same route and doesn't appear to be much if any faster than it was, not that that's a problem as far as I'm concerned.

I wish that I had used it whilst I was there but I did not find out about it being in operation until very near to the end of my stay. Next time though I think that it would be a good experience.

Back to the original question, no, there is deffinatelly no rail link, bus is your only option im afraid. I've done the journey myself a couple of times. However, its not all bad, the bus link is actually pretty good, being an express coach service, not a loooooong local bus route that stops every 100 yards!
