Getting a small household from the UK to Spain
We are a couple (EU, non-Brits, non-Spaniards) living near Bristol and about to brexit to Northern Spain by the end of the year. We are now looking into our options to get our stuff down there, storage – then self drive – shipping container – regular removal company, etc. Are there companies offering to take additional cargo on empty trucks back to Spain? Would that be an option? Or should we stick with a conventional moving/transport company? Or better drive it down ourselves? Any experiences and infos on pitfalls would be greatly appreciated.Any suggestions for the most cost effective (read: cheapest) way to send a small household (many boxes + 2 sofas) to Santander (or further to Oviedo)? Does anybody has some current figures to compare? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Steffen

Re: Getting a small household from the UK to Spain
We found a UK company who had a storage facility near our new home. I would suggest you ask locals in Bristol and wherever you intend relocating to for their recommendations.
Moving furniture is hard work and I would suggest you forget DIY. |

When their removal companies storage facility caught fire, a friend lost all of their belongings including irreplaceable items of sentimental value.
