Getting NIE advice

Hi

I have an NIE but my wife does not, how easy would it be and where would I go in Benidorm to get one. We are due to holiday there soon and I wondered if it would be possible to get the NIE then.

Also, could a gestor do it for us and if so, how much would it cost?

Hi

Sure someone will be along with an address for you soon. I seem to remember there is an appoinbtment system there in Benidorm, so it would be easy for you to do yourself once you have downloaded the form, although sometimes you have to wait (well, you do in this area) for about 3 weeks for it to be issued.

Is there a version of the NIE form in English as the one in the FREE BEER is in Spanish? Thanks.

Possibly because you are not in the country.
Everyone else has to apply in person and be scrutinized against your ID.

Why do you want an English version ?
It is a Spanish official form, you would need to pay to have it officially translated back to Spanish when you handed it in. ;-))

Look up the words you are not sure of in a dictionary, it is only basic name and address etc.

Not sure about that, we had to open a bank account and submit copies of our passports that was all. My family are in Andalucia now, its only me that cannot go yet. But I agree, they were not there then.

I didn't know that we need to have it translated back to Spanish. What we fill in, is all in English like our own name & address. My daughter has been learning Spanish for 6 mths & she can help me. I thought we need a photo for the application but she told me that I don't need one.

Can anyone tell me which application requires a photo besides passport?
Thanks.

Have a look at this file it is a bit dated now but the form is the same and I have filled it in for Tommy Smith. We definitely had to take photos but some say not. If they want them and you have not got them come back another day so the wise advice is take everything they could posibly want including you inside leg measurement.

Thanks very much John & Kath. Your notes are really helpful. I may want to apply it in London, but I got to get a Spanish address to use.

There is a site URL which is not valid as I got a 404 error (Object not found) but I dare not post the URL. It's after this section:
"Alternatively you can do it all in the UK, at the Spanish Consulate in London, Manchester or Edinburgh".

Has the URL been changed?

Can't help there it worked when we needed it but go to the Spanish Embassy site (goole it) and link from there. Hold on just tried it and it said control+rght click and it went straight through. Actually much better than when we did ours and list exactly what you have to take so you had better readthrough it.
