I have to give up the king of Spain is not going to give me electricity, has any one had a generator fitted,how much,where can i get one, how big to run a 4 bed casa thank you

I have a generator but only as a back up for when the mains power goes off.

It provides about 7 kw and cost about €4.500 but nearly €1.000 was for the autostart control box which, presumably, you will not need if it is to be your main source of power.

If you have air conditioning, swimming pool etc you may need one with a higher capacity.

You should consider using it in conjunction with a solar power supply.

There is a nice big diesel one for sale in VELA the hire shop in rana verde
it is a 10k power, don't know the price though,it would easy run your house on tick over, and being diesel you could run it on old chip oil,might smell a bit like a chippy.
And you might get people knocking on your gate and asking for "cod and chips twice please"

I'm afraid, just getting a generator may not solve all your problems, consider a generator of 5KVA will cost about .8/1€ per hour to run on load or not (give or take a cent or two depending on the load.), therefore you are talking about 20/25 € per day to run, so consider perhaps other options. And dont forget the noise. (Silent running is a technical definition, not a hearing consideration)

Get a reasonable sized generator and and fit with a Charger inverter say 3000KW and a set of batteries, (Deep cycle 24V),. Then run the generator when you are doing your heavy dut loads, IE washing pool pump etc, and at the same time charge the batteries, Say that takes in Total 6/8 hours per hady, you then run the rest of the day on Batteries, reducing running costs, maintenance costs and wear and tear on the generator...

A decent generator say a 9.5KV should cost you about 4500€, and a suitably sized set of batteries at approx 6000€ with inverter charger. .
If you ensure that you get the right type of batteries and charger/inverter it should be relatively simple to upgrade to solar power at a later date, to further reduce operatiing costs.

3KW per day Solar System would be in the 11,500€ (Small house careful use of electric)
5Kw per day Solar System 15500€ (3 bed house with use of electric as normal)
7Kw per day Solar Syxstem 23,000€ (4/5 Beds with some use of Heavy duty appliances intermittently.

All the systems would need a generator for standby a 5KVa unit will be around 2000€
