Hello all, We are looking into retiring to Spain (5 year plan )and wanted to know where there could be like minded Brits living in communities . Not that we don't want to mix with the locals just want to start small and work from there, we may be in a position to by soon but are waiting for the Brexit issues to unfold.

I live in Benidorm and there are a lot of gated communities. However, it will be at least two years before any Brexit issues are settled so it's a little early yet.

I am always on the lookout for small villas / bungalows being advertised for rental or sale in a gated community and in the time I've lived here in Benidorm I've only seen a couple. They are as rare as rocking horse s**t

Property prices are starting to rise now here and all along the Costa Blanca area as are rental prices. Can't imagine the situation in 5 years time.

Thanks for the reply Steve, the 5 year plan is when we are proposing to move out and retire, the hear and now is that over the next couple of years we want to look and buy a place so we wanted to start checking out the areas, that have Gated communities and decide where to settle.
We are also considering further down the coast in the Rojales area as we have a friend who lives there.
