Default Gas Heating

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has knowledge of gas convector heaters?
The make is solargas3 and as it happens we are in the process of having them taken out and replaced with a conventional system powered by a combi-boiler.
The main question is I have experienced what i consider to be damp possibly caused by condensation from the old convector style heaters? Is this a likely cause for damp? There are no water leaks anywhere and it has occurred in a lot of rooms (some worse than others)
If the problem disappears when the new heating kicks in this weekend then it will become self evident it was the old heaters but I am just curious for anyones opinions\views\experiences?
kind regards,
Superpot

Hi, the damp takes the form of blackish \ greenish discoloration on the walls and ceilings.
Once it dries it can be hoovered off or if it is thicker it needed wiping off.

cheers,
