Default Gardening/flower advice

I'm not a keen gardener but recently aquired myself a very large garden which drastically needs some colour in it. Can anybody advise what flowers flourish in Andalucia?

I know everybody will tell me to go to a garden centre (which there are plenty of) but I'm a stereotypical tight Yorkshireman & would rather save a few quid by ordering seeds online than buying potted plants.

Thanks in advance

A lot depends on the type of garden and whether you want tall shrubs or smaller border plants.

For instant cheap, all year round colour you cannot beat geraniums - loads in the nurseries at the moment.

I've got space for a farm Fred so advice on both shrubs and smaller plants please. I'm never going to sit there for hours gardening so I need plants that will be quite happy just getting watered daily.
