Gandia nice area?
Seems like a nice area close to coast. Anyone that knows the area well I would appreciate your views.

Love Gandia ... spent a lot of time in Denia but would happily have bought a place in Gandia, knowing what I know now. Great beaches and only really busy in the height of summer.

Love it here.
Very Spanish, but there are pockets of English around.
Great beach.
Nice port area.
Good fiesta - fallas in march and the October fiesta !
plenty of places to eat and see, and about 1+hr on the train into Valencia.

I go to Gandia fairly regularly. The beach and port area is great but is a distance from the town so it is almost like two totally different places. The town has loads of different shops, restaurants etc so spoilt for choice. As The Guy says it is very Spanish but there are a number of Brits in the area.

Sounds great i will check it out soon. I was a little disappointed when I visited Javea, I think because I'd heard so many great things I had high expectations but everyone has their own opinions.

Re: Gandia nice area?
Gandia is a super place in my view. We stay around town, the beach area is fine but would not keep us amused in the off season periods, whereas the town is a year-round centre of activity. It appears to be a very family orientated environment. There is enough space to be anonymous and yet the place becomes familiar and comfortable to be in. Great for transport connections, Valencia on the half hour weekdays and hourly at weekends. Denia is an hour on the bus and then you can get a train from there all the way to Alicante, hopping off at various stops such as Altea and Benidorm on the way. If you miss the sound of British accents you can always hang out at Carrefour or get on the bus and visit Oliva.

Only a short drive from the beach without being right on it. Easy to get around by car to different areas with the AP-7 close by. Picturesque coastline and also close to amenities.

The grau has had makeover with a prom.being opened up to the marina. The beach is busy in season but out of season when quieter there are a couple of bars on the beach that stay open.
It's only a short drive to Oliva where the beach area is quieter if that's what you prefer.

We are halfway between Gandia and Oliva. Gandia has everything you could want shopping-wise and a big outdoors market on a Saturday. Plus lots of excellent restaurants and bars. The beach area is great, very busy at the height of summer but most of the year it is lovely and quiet. There's a good bus service from the centre to the beach. The long promenade and superb beach are great to walk along. Trains from Gandia to Valencia pass through some places worth visiting for days out such as Cullera.

Re: Gandia nice area?
As other members wrote, Gandia town and Gandia beach are two very different worlds. Gandia beach is much more busy and the town is more quiet. Oliva is a very good choice only 10 km. away.
