Is there anyone here living in Galicia ?

Re: Galicia
I (with OH and three children) live about 10kms inland of Viveiro in Galicia. There are not many British expats in Galicia.

Re: Galicia
Hi bz123 Thanks. I have loads of questions, which I do not expect to ask of you or answer, but the first thing is the weather..... we have heard that it rains, but, we live in Ireland and I find it very hard to believe that Galicia can be any worse than here !? So, could you please try and explain the weather in Galicia ? Thank you so much.

Maybe you should try and find a website which shows past weather for Galicia. In the summer it could be teeming with rain, cold, windy where we live but if we visited Lugo the sun would be shining and hot. Then in winter the sun could be shining yet if we wanted to visit Lugo we would not be able to because the road would be closed because of the snow. Maybe if you went south in Galicia the weather would be better. |

We are actually a little confused and torn between Galicia and Asturias.... is there a weather difference between them, is one cheaper than the other...????
It is impossible to generalise about price difference. It depends on exactly where you will be buying/renting a property In Asturias, a 4 bed house can set ypu back 600k in the nice part of Oviedo/Gijon or 60k off in the middle of nowhere. I should think there is a similar story in Galicia Generally the rule is that prices can cheaper the further away from the Coast and the cities you are You need to work out what kind of lifestyle you want. Living in a remote village is nothing like living near a city or on the coast. Personally it would be my idea of hell but each to their own |

Oviedo/Asturias airport, La Coruna and Vigo. All pretty small with not that many flights to the UK. Santander airport is a bit further away |
