G&T anyone?

Can't remember which thread, but we were talking about the gin-tonic craze in Spain recently - this article seems to confirm it! Not sure I'd want pink peppercorns floating in mine but, hey, you never know.

Yep, what did I tell you?

I've been having Gin Tonics all over Spain in the 5 years that I lived here - prompted by my Spanish friends. I'd never even tried one in the UK

Every Spanish city has at least a couple of Gin bars, there is even an excellent one on the square in Fuengirola! Although my best Gin Tonic has to be on the beach from the one chiringuito at Zahara de los Atunes. Amazing topical-style beach and you can take your drinks in the sea with you. Bring on the summer!

Our local Spanish bar in the village makes his G&T so strong that I can only drink one in the night, I'd never had one in the UK, but I'm now a convert!

Me too - perfect on a warm summer evening! In keeping with my "buy local produce" principles I usually get the Rives brand, which is made in El Puerto de Santa Maria in Cádiz.

Have you tried it with a slice of cucumber? :D

Yes they can be in some bars. Some I have been unable to get a small bottle of tonic in a large glass:D OH likes Gin, he always likes Larios. My tipple is vodka, only Absolut. BTW how much is Larios now? At one time it was going up every other month.

Talking of strong drinks reminds me of one time in Greece. I had a Tequila Sunrise and said to OH it tasted weak as if there was nothing in it. When we left theb ar after I had 3 I could hardly stand up:lol:

Larios, seriously? There are plenty of well priced quality gins in Spanish supermarkets to avoid that. Bombay, Seagrams, Tanqueray

You'll be telling me you can't enough of Whiskey Dick next :D

The whole point about spirit measures in Spain is you are meant to tell the waiter when to stop!

Vodka only has one use, to get blind drunk, you may as well drink nail polish remover

Yes he is well aware, cannot get larios in the UK:) No difference between vodka ,gin, or any other spirit. All more or less the same proof and you can get equally drunk with any.

The whole point of life is to enjoy what you enjoy it regardless of other peoples opinions.;)
