Hi All,
First post on this forum!
I am looking to furnish a 3bed house near to Alberic. We have all the white goods we need, but require beds and all furniture + TV, DVD player. Our budget won't be huge and we won't be buying any top of the range goods.
I've heard that furniture shops are much more expensive in Spain than in the UK, but its hard to get an idea of price as for some reason none of the shops I have managed to find online have websites.
I'd be grateful if anyone could advise of any good shops relatively nearby or whether it really is more worthwhile to by the furniture here and have it shipped over if there is a huge difference in price.

If you are looking for flat pack furniture there is a Carrefour in Alzira and they have a website. For chairs, sofas and beds I would look at Luis Serra who is also in Alzira but I do not know whether they have a website.

yes, new furniture is expensive here................ & so are secondhand shops

do you use facebook? - there's a group called sellyourstuffspain - lots of people selling secondhand furniture & electrical goods reasonably local to you - I bought some lovely traditional spanish units & a beautiful sleigh bed through the group

as Rosemary said - the hipermarkets have 'modern flatpack' stuff.............& you could always try IKEA - theres a company called flatpaxabia who collect from there regularly if you don't fancy the trip - & they'll even put it together for you

I'm pretty sure they go as far as Xativa

From your location go to Masanasa in Valencia where you will find heaps of shops that have shed loads of offers at this stage.
Conforama is often worth a visit as the stock some nice stuff on occasion from white goods through to soft furnishings, but around the corner there are loads more outlets.
