Default Fuerteventura Soon

Hello. I'm new here. I'm currently based in the UK, but am hoping to move out to Fuerteventura within the next year. Anyone here already taken the plunge, and are there any uniquely Fuerte/Canary things I should take into account before buying or moving? I'm pretty sure I'll have about a zillion questions closer to the time.

The most unique " fuerte thing" that I recall is the prevailing fuerte viento or vientofuerte should I say.
That combined with copious amounts of sand in the air from the Sahara plus a desolate landscape makes it easily the least attractive of the Canaries IMHO.

However I'm sure you have had positive experiences of the island that you find attractive, so each to his/her own and I hope things work out as you would hope.

Years ago, visited all the Canary Islands on holdays and whilst Fuerteventura is ok for a winter holiday, it's a bleak landscape and IMO not the ideal place in which to live unless of course the landscape is what you are looking for as a permanent vista.

But the best beaches there are as good as any you'll find anywhere.

True.

Fresh sand arriving from the Sahara almost on a daily basis.
