fuengirola and the plague of LOOKIE-LOOKIE

Re: fuengirola and the plague of LOOKIE-LOOKIE
When we lived in Playa Flamenca there was a regular patrol of the beach by either police or beach patrol people, and all the owners of the various cafes etc in the shopping centre nearest the beach would throw the looky looky men out if they came near. It was amusing to be at in a cafe or shopping in the place when all of a sudden there would be a stampede of looky looky men rushing through the centre to get away from the officials who were on the beach. The policing system did work we rarely saw any.

Last year my wife and I were having dinner in the port at Duquesa when we were approached by a lookie man. Unfortunately he was quite persistent and my German Shepherd, who was lying under the table took exception to this and let out a bark.
Word must have got around the lookie men because although they were around none came near us again.

Always amazes me that the hounding of these pests trying to sell fake Plop to us is not treated more serious!
Half way through a meal/conversation/drink, or even half asleep on sunbed... they walk up to you spreading their goods ""cheap-cheap"" """ Half-price""..."no thank you, i do not need a Wooden Elephant! . or Trainers or Sun Glasses!!!

T.V E 1 were showing a video of a pitch battle between sun shade sellers on the beach at Barcelona just last week. Seems some of them were trying to muscle in on somebody else's patch. Still at least the "lookie lookies" are doing something. Better than those who sit outside Mercadonna just holding out their hands.
