Do freeview boxes work in Spain? I guess not, but can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
Graham
No need for any repies (assuming someone was going to anyway
). I have now found the answer from an older thread.
Thanks

I assume your message said something about searching old threads as it has already been discussed before

No, would I be so churlish?
What I actually said was that it will work but will only receive Spanish TDT programmes.
You do need to appreciate the difference, however, between 'Freeview' and 'Free to View'.

Remember that you do not need a Sky digibox for the free to air channels. You can get an FTA receiver for as little as €50 but you obviously need the correct sized dish for your area.

Speaking of English TV, does anyone know if Canal + offers an OV (original version or English) option. Canal is about half the cost of Sky and pretty much offers the same package.

They include 4 spanish channels TVE2, Antenna 3 Tele 5 and TVE1. Many now broadcasting in digital, but some convert back to analogue before rebroadcasting. I've just looked in a local paper, and there must be at least 10 companies advertising them, there are also companies that will supply dishes to receive SKY direct.
