A food journey of a lifetime...
I'm sure those destinations will provide a great experience (especially for those who don't know the north of Spain) and fantastic dining. Not so sure about those prices though...

Hire a car and using Google would be a far cheaper, more authentic and infinitely more enjoyable way to experience real Spain I would vouchsafe.

€5,500 for a couple travelling does seem rather a lot for 7 nights in a hotel, an internal flight, some meals and a few wine tours and presentations all of which could be organised independently for far less.

However it seems that there are some who are prepared to pay the prices as they state the October tour is fully booked. I suppose that if you don't know the language it may be daunting to organise all the accommodation and travel - although isn't a lot already on internet sites already translated? Also, people feel happier if they're with other folk who speak the same language on their foodie tour? And of course you probably glean a lot from the organisers if they know their subject well, and you yourself have never been to those areas. But, not for me at those prices.

Looks a bit of a rip off to me. Doesn't even include the international airfare.
Interesting they mention 4* hotels but don't tell you which ones.
You can easily get a good double room in a 4* for under 200 euros including breakfast (so 100 euros per head)
A 10 course tasting meal at the 2nd best restaurant in the world in Girona with 3 Michelin stars is around 140 euros a head. 50 at one up the road from here with 1 star. They don't say any of the restaurants they use are Michelin starred so presumably they aren't.
I reckon you could do it all yourself for about half the price.

They should get cricketman to organise it, make sure its up to standard
You could do it yourself but this type of trip does appeal to some who can afford it, no faffing about etc.

Those specialist tours seem to do well. They are mainly aimed at elderly people. I have an Aunt and Uncle who always do tours and use a travel agent. They aren't computer savvy and are lacking in confidence. They don't think they are expensive. They have been on French wine tours and even to Borneo where every day is mapped out for them. Perhaps a lot of us will be doing the same when in our 70's+

Great for old timers, members of the WWF and even royalty.

I imagine the odd tusk or two will easily pay for the trip.

We've just been touring round Spain eating and drinking ourselves silly, trying out local products where possible. Over two weeks we spent less than €1000 including petrol. There are some great hotel rooms for less than €60 a night now it's low season.
