right now that I have your attention could some kind soul do some translations for different cuts of meat (if anyone has the time that is) i.e. to make a lamb stew I would have bought neck of lamb at home. When I go into the shops here there is never a large selection on display and I really don't know what cuts to ask for:o Any help would be much appreciated.

Neck of lamb translates as 'cuello del cordero' but not sure if this is what you would need to be looking for as there are often totally different names for the areas of meat. But skirt of beef is falda de buey so maybe the literal translation is right. Experts in the language will come on soon hopefully to guide you.

Thought you might be interested in the fact that I am sat here enjoying a lovely bowl of fresh strawberries and Devon Clotted Cream.

Try this link to the Eroski supermarket site... nice little picture of a lamb to go with the translation too:D http://ideasana.fundacioneroski.es/web/es/10/cordero/
Cuts of meat are.... Don´t know how good your Spanish is, if you need help, just PM me and I´ll translate into perfect Spanglish:thumbsup:
1. Paletilla o Espaldilla. Son las patas delanteras del cordero. Su carne es muy tierna y jugosa.
2. Falda.

Re: Food

My spanish isn't bad but food is my weak point andcan be a bit embarrassing when visitors expect me to translate in restaurants.

As a vegetarian, my brain just seems to file away certain spanish words under Meat or Fish, which is fine for me but doesn't help my omnivorous friends.
